There are several characters associated with London.

James (Mad)Lucas was a recluse who took up residence in Redcoats, near Hitchin. He was a celebrity of the day - visited by many well know personalities including Charles Dickens who based  “Mr. Mopes" of the 1861 story Tom Tiddler's Ground .

The Lucas brothers (builders) were responsible for constructing many fine buildings including The Royal Albert Hall.

A family member that made his fortunes in Jamaica was Samson Lucas. He returned home and died in 1789 London.

I also include Baron De Grey, as Anthony Grey, the descendants of whom inherited the Baron De Shenfield title from Sir John Lucas of Colchester
