Edmund/ Henry Brasses – St Mary’s Bury St Ed
Here in this grave and under this one stone
Doth Edmund rest, this Henrie’s eldest sonne
Who ending so, asa better due coulde none
Immortall ioye for mortall life hath wonne
A fervent zeale unto the trewth he bore
And fixte his faith on Christ most constantly
As at his death his words did well declare
Unto the ioye of all the standers by
Thus here ye see of tree and fruit to fall
Of sire and sonne I meane whom death has slayne
God make us prest [ready] for him when he shall call
That heven through Christ wee may here afte’ gayne
Aerumnary. Requires mors.
